The Effect of Intervention on Walking and Balance through Circuit Training Program of Chronic Stroke Out Patient

Abstract

|
Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of circulatory exercise on gait and balance in chronic outpatient stroke patients and to present it as a method of self-exercise at home.
Method: This study was conducted in 11 patients with chronic outpatient strokes at a hospital in Bundang, Gyeonggi-do. It was performed twice. To evaluate gait and balance ability, Gait Rite. 10 MW. Tetrax. TUG. BBS. TIS was measured.
Results: Gait evaluation using TUG(p<.05). Gait Rite equipment showed a statistically significant difference in step time differential(p<.05) in the circulatory exercise group.
Conclusion: Circulation exercise is an effective exercise method for maintaining walking and balance function of chronic outpatient stroke patients when compared with traditional physical therapy.
